Today In The Upper Cumberland: Energy And Protecting The Environment

In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, we are reminded just how quickly gas prices can increase. One station in Montereyselling gasoline Friday for 3.29 a gallon. Though the 3 dollar price memories of several years IS a memory…exploration of domestic energy sources is ongoing.

And that includes in Tennessee…where oil, gas and coal exist…but not as readily as in other parts of the United States.

Jackson County attorney Brian Paddock makes sure that those exploring – are taking care of the environment at the same time. He is a member of SOCEM. The Statewide Organization for Community Empowerment.

Jason And Tony: A Guy Is an Internet Hero For Feeding His Girlfriend Chicken Nuggets During Her Manicure

I’m pretty sure this guy just made EVERY other man on the planet look bad in comparison.  Thanks a lot, buddy.

A woman named Lea Adame from Orange County, California tweeted a photo earlier this week.  She’s at a nail salon . . . and a guy was there feeding his girlfriend chicken nuggets while she got a manicure.

Now the photo is going viral . . . especially thanks to women who’ve more or less declared that this guy is a HERO for pulling the ULTIMATE boyfriend move.

Today In The Upper Cumberland: Future Of Cookeville’s Downtown

Dogwood Park. Buildings full. Rejuvenated lighting and signage. Plans for a new hotel and conference center. Downtown Cookeville has seen lots of changes over the past several years. And the future looks bright.

Cookeville Cityscape has been at the center of this work. And there are many plans on the table, bringing together local citizens, business owners, town leaders and the organization.

Laura Wolf heads Cookeville Cityscape. Cookeville City Council Member Jim Woodford is also part of the Cityscape Board.
