The Signature Food in All 50 States

“Playboy” put together a list of each state’s signature food or drink by surveying people on Reddit.

I like it for one main reason: It’s actually based on the opinion of people in each state, not some 27-year-old food blogger who got hired because their dad is golf buddies with the CEO. I might have some bitterness to work out . . . Read More »

Kids Would Rather Eat Bugs Than Vegetables

Apparently kids still hate vegetables so much, they’d rather eat anything else. Literally, anything.

A new survey found 71% of kids under 10 say they HATE eating vegetables.

But 18% say they’d like to try eating worms . . . 12% would try a caterpillar . . . and 12% would try snails.

The survey didn’t give a breakdown of boys versus girls, but I think we can all assume which gender is more likely to eat bugs . . . unless something has really changed since we were kids.

Four Not-So-Healthy Habits of the World’s Oldest Person

A 115-year-old woman in Michigan named Jeralean Talley became the world’s oldest person this week. And not all of her habits are that “healthy.” Here are four things she’s done to make it to 115 . . .

1. She watches a lot of TV. Which makes sense . . . it’s not like you’re climbing mountains at that point. Her daughter says her favorite shows are “Ellen” and “Wheel of Fortune”, and she also listens to baseball on the radio.

2. She eats fast food. Her favorite things are Chicken McNuggets and Wendy’s chili, and she’s also a big potato salad fan. To be fair though, she also eats a lot of fruit, vegetables, rice, and fish. And she started avoiding butter about ten years ago.

3. She lived alone for a long time. Her husband died in 1988, then she lived by herself for almost three decades until her daughter moved in to take care of her about seven years ago.

4. She gambles. Her daughter says she stays active by hitting the casino every now and then, and playing the slots. She also still goes fishing twice a year . . . bowled until she was 104 . . . and mowed her own lawn until she was 108.

But she says the one thing that matters MOST is how you treat other people . . . and always trying to be nice is the secret to staying healthy and living a long life.

One in Six People Get Something For Their Dog When They Go Through the Drive-Thru

Somewhere in this country, there’s a dog eating a Big Mac.

A new survey found one in SIX people usually buy their dog something when they go through a fast food drive-thru.

McDonald’s is the most popular place to get something. The rest of the top 10 are: Burger King . . . Wendy’s . . . Taco Bell . . . Starbucks . . . Sonic . . . Chick-fil-A . . . Dairy Queen . . . In-N-Out Burger . . . and Culver’s.

Obviously we’re most likely to order something if our dog is actually IN the car when we go through the drive-thru . . . in 80% of those cases he’ll get some food.
