Usually when you think about binge-watching a show like “Breaking Bad” from start to finish . . . the only thing that might hold you back is how much time it would take. Or maybe that wouldn’t faze you at all.
Consumerist.com did a little digging to determine what shows would take the LONGEST to binge-watch. They only considered shows that were streaming in their entirety on a subscription service like Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu Plus.
In the end, they found that “Law & Order: SVU” would take the longest. There have been 16 seasons so far, and all 362 episodes are currently available on Hulu Plus. It would take you 15,566 minutes to get through it. That’s 259.4 hours, or just shy of 11 full days.
The original “CSI” was the runner up. There are 317 episodes on Hulu, which would take nine-and-a-half days to binge-watch. The original “Hawaii Five-O” is third. Netflix has 279 episodes that would take eight-and-a-half days.
Honorable mentions went to “Murder, She Wrote” and “NYPD Blue” from Netflix and Amazon Prime, respectively. Both would take about eight days.
If you consider FRANCHISES, “Star Trek” would be #1. The five “Star Trek” shows have a total runtime of 30,782 minutes, which is more than 21 days. And that’s without counting the 12 movies or the animated series.
Other long franchises include: “CSI”, “Power Rangers”, “Stargate”, “Cheers”, and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. “Cheers”includes the spin-off “Frasier” . . . and “Buffy” includes “Angel”.
