Today In The Upper Cumberland: Workforce Readiness

Dr. Myra West and Dr. Daniel Marvin discuss high school and workforce readiness.

“Get the young people graduated with English, math, social studies, and science.” That may be the old perception of what we thought it meant to leave high school, but today, things are changing. A greater emphasis by educators at all levels to make sure students are coming out of high school with a career path. It doesn’t have to be the final one, but some ideas on where they would like to go moving forward. College isn’t for everyone – a career is. Two parts of that equation – Vol State and TCAT. Dr. Myra West, and Dr. Daniel Marvin explore their part of workforce readiness.
