Not that long ago that, people could actually do things without googling them first. Or they had to learn how to do them hands-on. In other words, your grandparents had a whole set of skills your kids probably never will.
According to a new survey of 2,000 people, here are the ten traditional skills that are dying out . . .
1. Reading a map.
2. Using a compass.
3. Knowing how to tie different knots.
4. Darning socks, which means fixing holes in them. Most young people don’t even know “darning” is a word.
5. Looking something up in a book by using the index.
6. Knowing how to format a letter.
7. Knowing measurement conversions, like there are four quarts in a gallon.
8. Spelling and grammar.
9. Building a fire.
10. Having good penmanship, because no one writes anything anymore.
