The gunman who went on a shooting rampage in West Texas called police before and during the massacre. Authorities say the attack happened after the gunman had been fired from his job, but that he was mentally unstable long before then. Officials added that he had a history of calling police and the FBI and leaving incoherent rambling messages — but until this massacre, he had never made any specific threats.
