Dailey Bailey: Moms Want a Day Off for Mother’s Day, but Only 2% Expect to Get One

Mother’s Day is Sunday May 8th . . . just over two weeks out. Plenty of time to shop. But according to a new survey, a lot of moms would be happy if they just got a day to themselves this year.

12% of the women in the survey said a day off is the number one thing they want for Mother’s Day. But only 2% expect to actually get one.

The only thing that ranked higher was a handmade gift. All the women in the survey had kids under 18 though, so that’s why. But if you’re 38 and want to make your mom a macaroni necklace, we say go for it. Then call in and tell us how it went.

The survey also found the top things moms expect to get this year are a card . . . a handmade gift . . . and flowers. And 9% said they expect to get nothing.

They also had to name the worst gifts they’ve ever gotten. And the answers included a vacuum cleaner . . . having to listen to their kids fight all day . . . and having to spend the day with their mother-in-law.
