Today In The Upper Cumberland: Paying For College

Marilyn Mullinix and CHS counselors talk affording the rising costs of college.

The average college student will graduate today with a diploma, and more than 28 thousand dollars in college debt. 20 years ago, that number stood at 12 thousand dollars. So as the mom or dad who wants your children to go to college, how do you afford the rising cost of higher education? What resources are available to help you and your soon to be college student? We explore that topic with Marilyn Mullinix of Progressive Savings Bank, and high school counselors Julie Smith and Lori Strode – they serve at Cookeville High School.

Today In The Upper Cumberland airs each weekend as a way to introduce you to interesting people and subjects of interest to our community. Catch the show each Saturday morning at 6 on Rock 93-7, 106-9 Kicks Country, and at 8 on Lite Rock 95.9.
