Valley Fire: Third worst in California history

Less than one month ago, residents of Middletown, California were driven from their homes as a wildfire raced through their community. Half of the town burned down in what was named “Valley Fire.” It was the third worst in California history, but thanks to the heroic efforts of firefighters, many lives were saved. Predictit: Political betting scandal

FanDuel and DraftKings were involved in a scandal that’s compared to insider trading on wall street, which has led to new attention on the political prediction website, “Predict it.” The site lets you wager on all sorts of political and financial events. Lawmakers push for more control on drones

As of September 27th, the federal aviation administration logged 920 reports of drone sightings this year, most coming from commercial or general aviation pilots. Federal data shows California having more close calls than any other state. Lawmakers are working to launch an offensive so drones can fly safely with planes and helicopters. Ben Tracy reports. Bill Cosby to give deposition amid new sexual assault claim

The civil lawsuit by Judy Huth claims the comedian assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion in 1974 when she was 15. It’s Cosby’s first deposition since 2005, where he admitted to obtaining quaaludes with the intent of using them for sex with young women. Since then 40 women have come forward with sexual assault claims against Cosby. CBS News legal expert Rikki Klieman joins “CBS This Morning” to discuss the upcoming deposition. Source

Condo buyers say they lost big on failed Trump projects

GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump started making money when he actually owned buildings. But today, nearly 40 percent of the 62 buildings that bear his name are not owned by Trump. Crews end search for cargo ship El Faro as families grieve

The Coast Guard is looking for the data recorder from El Faro that sank in the Bermuda Triangle during Hurricane Joaquin. The device is three miles underwater. On Wednesday, the coast guard suspended its search for survivors, nearly one week after the ship vanished. Thirty-three people were on board. Jamie Yuccas reports from Jacksonville, Florida. Source

Flooding threat grows for South Carolina coasts

The death toll in the deadly Southern flooding has climbed to 19. In South Carolina, 14 dams have failed statewide, and now there are new concerns over excess water spreading downstream and flooding the coast. David Begnaud reports from the state’s capital of Columbia. Source
