The 15-time Emmy-winning series, “The Amazing Race,” is about to film its 30th season. But the show’s host, Phil Keoghan, has been busy with another show about traveling the world called “Flying High with Phil Keoghan.” Keoghan joins “CBS This Morning” to discuss the inspiration behind his new series for the Smithsonian Channel and his documentary in which he retraces the route of the 1928 Tour De France on an original 1928 bike – which weighs about twice as much as modern ones. Mom of texting suicide victim speaks out after Michelle Carter sentencing
A Massachusetts woman was sentenced to 15 months in jail for using text messages to encourage her friend to commit suicide. A judge ruled Michelle Carter will not have to go to jail until all of her state appeals are exhausted. She was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Conrad Roy in June. “48 Hours” correspondent Erin Moriarty spoke with Roy’s family after the sentencing hearing. Source
Fire engulfs Dubai residential high-rise for second time
The cause of a massive fire at one of the world’s tallest residential buildings is under investigation. Dramatic video shows the flames engulfing part of the Dubai skyscraper overnight. The fire sent chunks of debris crashing to the ground. This is the second time in recent years the building known as “Torch Tower” has caught fire. Jonathan Vigliotti reports. Source
