NYC Democratic mayoral candidates address recent report on Eric Adams

Five of the leading Democratic candidates in the New York City mayoral race met for the third debate Thursday night. Frontrunner Eric Adams had said earlier this week that he wouldn’t participate, but reversed course, despite a recent report that raised questions about where he lived. “This is silly. I live in Bed-Stuy, I am a Brooklynite,” Adams said in response to the report. Watch their remarks. Source

Biden highlights U.S. role in fighting global pandemic during overseas trip

During his first overseas trip, President Biden outlined a plan to donate 500 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to lower-income nations to help end the global pandemic. New unemployment claims reach lowest levels of the pandemic, but some businesses struggling to fill positions

As CBS News’ Omar Villafranca reports, the Labor Department says 376,000 Americans filed first-time unemployment claims last week — marking the lowest level since the pandemic began. But many businesses say they’re having trouble filling open position.
