Buffalo mass shooting witnesses sue social media, gun companies

Sixteen people who witnessed the Tops shooting in Buffalo, New York, in May 2022 are suing social media and gun companies over the trauma they endured. The suit alleges the gunman — who killed 10 Black people in the racist attack — was radicalized in these online spaces. Kristen Elmore-Garcia, a partner at the law office John Elmore P.C. based in Buffalo, joins CBS News to unpack the legal battle. Source

TSA to implement new rules after breaches involving CLEAR

The TSA is implementing some new screening measures after incidents involving “CLEAR.” The service is available at 53 U.S. airports and allows passengers to bypass long security lines. Fani Willis proposes March 2024 trial for Trump, co-defendants

The Georgia prosecutor accusing former President Donald Trump of a scheme to overturn the state’s 2020 election results wants a trial to begin in the midst of the Republican primary. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has proposed all 19 co-defendants be arraigned the week of Sept. 5 — and for the trial to begin on March 4.
