Sen. Tim Scott officially announces run for president

Senator Tim Scott, a Republican from South Carolina, has officially announced he is running for president in 2024. Scott kicked off his campaign Monday with an event at Charleston Southern University in his hometown. TikTok creator Heather DiRocco talks lawsuit over Montana ban

A group of TikTok creators in Montana are suing the state for banning the social media app, arguing the new law passed last week violates free speech. App stores are prohibited from allowing downloads of TikTok inside Montana. Heather DiRocco, a TikTok creator in Montana and one of the plaintiffs in this case, joined CBS News to talk about the suit. Source

Mother calls for death penalty in Idaho college students murder case

The man accused of killing four Idaho college students last November will be arraigned Monday. Bryan Kohberger faces four counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony burglary. He was arrested at his parents’ home in Pennsylvania six weeks after the alleged murders. CBS News correspondent Lilia Luciano has more. Source

Ukraine denies Russia controls city of Bakhmut as mercenary Wagner Group claims victory

Russia says they have completely taken the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, but Kyiv disputes the claim. Ukrainian forces, while admitting they’ve lost ground, say they still control areas southwest of the city and are advancing around its flanks. Russian mercenaries from the Wagner Group have staked their claim to the city, planting flags on the rooftops of ruined buildings.
