Many Americans who were stranded in Israel when major airlines canceled flights because of the conflict are finally beginning to return home. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Egypt’s president Sunday, the latest in a series of high-stakes talks with several Middle Eastern leaders who are keeping a close eye on the Israel-Hamas war. Israeli military officials said Sunday that 155 hostages who were kidnapped by Hamas militants during the Oct. 7 attack on Israel are being held captive in Gaza. The images of Hamas kidnapping hostages have horrified Israel. Many of the captives are civilians, and they include children and Americans. Holly Williams has more. Source

Dr. Ghazi Hammad, a spokesperson for Hamas, spoke to Imtiaz Tyab about the 155 hostages who Israeli officials said were kidnapped by Hamas during its invasion of southern Israel, and are currently being held by the militant group. Source

Authorities said more than 2,600 people in Gaza have been killed in Israeli airstrikes since the Oct. 7 Hamas assault on Israel, which claimed at least 1,300 lives there.
