Donald Trump is facing a third indictment for allegedly trying to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. That follows criminal charges in Manhattan connected to “hush money” payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, and federal charges over his handling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. Trump could soon be indicted in Georgia over alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election there too. Special counsel Jack Smith delivered a statement Tuesday after a grand jury indicted former President Donald Trump in the Justice Department’s Jan. 6 investigation. “The attack on our nation’s Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, was an unprecedented assault on the seat of American democracy,” Smith said. “As described in the indictment, it was fueled by lies.” Source
