Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich still detained in Russia 6 months after arrest
Friday marks six months since Russian authorities arrested Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich on espionage charges. Both Gershkovich and the Journal deny the accusations and the U.S. has declared him “wrongfully detained,” but so far appeals for his release have been denied. Buying a home now unaffordable in 99% of America, report finds
The typical American cannot afford to buy a home in a growing number of communities across the nation under common lending standards, according to a new report from real estate data provider ATTOM. Researchers examined the median home prices last year for roughly 575 U.S. counties and found that home prices in 99% of those areas are beyond the reach of the average earner, who makes $71,214 a year, according to ATTOM. McCarthy-backed bill to avoid government shutdown gets bipartisan rejection
The House on Friday rejected a stopgap bill to fund the government, with a group of hard-right Republicans handing Speaker Kevin McCarthy yet another defeat in his efforts to avoid a shutdown. The 165-page bill, known as a continuing resolution, failed by a vote of 198 to 232. Twenty-one Republicans joined all Democrats in voting against the legislation. Suspect arrested in Tupac Shakur’s murder
One of the last living witnesses to the fatal drive-by shooting of rapper Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas, 60-year-old Duane “Keffe D” Davis, has been charged with murder with use of a deadly weapon in the 1996 killing. The long-awaited break comes in a case that has frustrated investigators and fascinated the public ever since the hip-hop icon was gunned down on the Las Vegas Strip 27 years ago. Source

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who shattered glass ceilings during her more than three decades in the U.S. Senate, has died at the age of 90.
