The Scene: Cast & Crew of Launch Day: Love Stories from 2108 at Cookeville Performing Arts Center

The director and some of the cast discuss this new play that has come to CPAC.

This week on The Scene – Join new host Laura Holloway as she meets with Director Kim Frick-Welker and cast member Jordyn Strilecky & Michael Evanichko. They talk about how Kim was able to get the script for the play, Jordyn talks about how she wears multiple hats with also working at CPAC while being a cast member, and Michael touches on his favorite thing about the show.

Decades after a mob destroyed her house, Opal Lee is returning home

When she was just 12, Opal Lee experienced a horrifying scene after her family moved into an all-white neighborhood in Fort Worth, Texas; a mob destroyed their home. Now 97, Lee – a retired teacher and community activist who is best known for her successful campaign to make Juneteenth a federal holiday – decided to look up the owners of the property where her family home once stood. Correspondent Steve Hartman reports on what Lee discovered. Source
