Meek Mill is finally living his dream: “I actually really did it”

Rapper Meek Mill’s life could be changing forever. After spending more than 10 years on probation for drug and gun charges, the Pennsylvania Superior Court overturned his 2008 conviction Wednesday and granted him a new trial. He no longer has a criminal record. On Wednesday, “CBS This Morning” revealed a partnership between Mill’s record label, Dream Chasers, and Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. “CBS This Morning” co-host Gayle King recently met with Mill in his hometown of Philadelphia to discuss his career, relationship with Jay-Z and decision to become a criminal justice activist. How a man on kidney dialysis got billed $540K for 14 weeks of care

Over the past year, Americans reportedly borrowed an estimated $88 billion to pay medical bills. “CBS This Morning” has partnered with Kaiser Health News and NPR on their “Bill of the Month” series, which uncovers shocking medical bills. The latest looks at the cost of a life-saving dialysis treatment for 50-year-old Sovereign Valentine. Sovereign and his wife Jessica say their insurance company Allegiance said there were no in-network dialysis clinics in Montana. The company, though, disputes this, based on their records. Sovereign used an out-of-network facility, and received a bill for more than $540,000 for 14 weeks of care. Source

Puerto Rico celebrates after Gov. Rosselló announces resignation

Puerto Rico’s embattled governor Ricardo Rosselló is stepping down after 12 days of historic, and at times violent protests. Rosselló announced his resignation in a Facebook live video late Wednesday night, causing demonstrations on the streets to turn into celebrations. Rosselló will leave office next Friday, Aug. 2.
