Meet the Syrian migrant boy whose story became a portrait

Our series “A More Perfect Union” aims to show that what unites us as Americans is far greater than what divides us. “Communities In Schools” is a non-profit working across the country to provide struggling students with everything from food to academic support. For the last year, the group has also been empowering students through art that tells their personal stories. Jan Crawford spoke with one recent middle school graduate, a migrant from Syria, whose life was turned into a portrait. Source

Deval Patrick surprised by how “awkward” Biden was on busing question at Democratic debate

Former aides to President Obama encouraged Deval Patrick, a former two-term Democratic governor of Massachusetts, to run for president this year. He declined citing “the cruelty of our elections process” and how it could affect his loved ones. Patrick is now a managing director at the investment firm Bain Capital. Kamala Harris on claims of low blow shot at Biden’s record: “Just speaking truth”

In her only network TV interview Sen. Kamala Harris joins “CBS This Morning” to discuss her heated exchange with fellow presidential candidate Joe Biden during Thursday night’s Democratic debate. Harris took aim at the former vice president’s position in the 1970s and 80s when he opposed the federal government’s involvement in using busing to help desegregate schools. Source
