Mavis Staples on what it takes to keep singing at 80

Soul and gospel legend and multiple Grammy winner Mavis Staples is a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and a Kennedy Center honoree. She’ll also be turning 80 next month. The Newport Folk Festival organized all-star birthday tributes in Nashville, Los Angeles, and at the Apollo Theater in New York, where she spoke with CBS’ Anthony Mason. Source

The genealogy wiz who helped his friend find her long-lost family

At around 10 years old, Eric Schubert started digging into his family’s past as a cure for boredom. Now, at 18, the New Jersey teen estimates he’s helped more than 1,000 people find their roots. About a year ago, he helped his friend Sammy Lynam find her biological family – leading to a reunion with her half sibling. Michelle Miller reports. Source
