Trump mulling executive order to add citizenship question to census
President Trump said he’s working on a way to bypass a Supreme Court ruling and add a citizenship question to the 2020 census. After a week of back and forth, and a decision deadline that has come and gone, the Justice Department said Friday that it’s still looking for a legal way to include the question on the survey. Southern California is awaiting more aftershocks after two powerful earthquakes rocked the area this week. The 7.1 magnitude quake, which hit just after 8 p.m. local time, was felt from Los Angeles all the way to Nevada and caused injuries, sparked fires and closed roadways. The quake was centered in the Mojave Desert near the town of Ridgecrest, which is still recovering from a 6.4 magnitude quake on the Fourth of July. Carter Evans reports. Source
