Virginia has become the 38th state to approve the Equal Rights Amendment, which would officially prohibit discrimination based on sex. The measure was approved by Congress back in 1972, but in the 1980s, momentum stalled after just 35 states passed it, three short of the three-fourths majority needed for ratification. Rappers Yo Gotti and Jay-Z have teamed up to bring legal action against the Mississippi Department of Corrections after five prisoners died violently in the state’s prisons in the past month. Songwriters Hall of Fame 2020 inductees announced

Mariah Carey, the Isley Brothers, Eurythmics, Rick Nowels, the Neptunes, William “Mickey” Stevenson and Steve Miller were revealed as the 2020 Songwriters Hall of Fame inductees by Anthony Mason on “CBS This Morning” Thursday. The new class is expected to be honored at a ceremony in June. Source
