Lakers invite Gianna Bryant’s teammates to game as part of Kobe Bryant tribute

The Lakers made an emotional return to the Staples Center last night in their first game since Kobe Bryant’s death. Musicians and celebrities joined over 19,000 fans to welcome their home team back, as well as teammates of Bryant’s daughter Gianna, who died with him and seven others in a helicopter crash. Tom Hanson reports on the game, where two court-side seats were left empty in honor of the pair. Source

TV titan Fred Silverman dead at 82

Legendary TV executive Fred Silverman died on Thursday at the age of 82. The titan headed up the entertainment division of CBS, ABC and NBC at a time when the three networks dominated all of television. Silverman was responsible for greenlighting groundbreaking sitcom “All in the Family,” among others. Source

Protests, cheers on the streets of London as Brexit is finalized

Brexit supporters celebrated the U.K.’s historic departure from the EU after it was formalized on Friday after nearly four tense years of back-and-forth. The country’s first order of business will include negotiations over trade and security as it will no longer abide by the trading bloc’s rules.
