Marie Fredriksson, of Swedish pop duo “Roxette,” dies at 61 after cancer battle

Singer Marie Fredriksson of the Swedish pop duo “Roxette” died Monday after battling cancer for 17 years. Some of Roxette’s biggest hits in the late 80s and 90s include “Listen to Your Heart,” “It Must Have Been Love” and “Joyride.” The duo sold more than 80 million records. Fredriksson’s bandmate, Per Gessle, remembers her as an amazing performer and wonderful friend. She is survived by her husband and two children. Source

“Sesame Street” becomes first TV show to be a Kennedy Center honoree

For the first time ever, this year’s Kennedy Center Honors celebrates a TV show: “Sesame Street.” It has revolutionized how we think about childhood and the world.
