Coronavirus-quarantined cruise passengers battle illness, boredom

The U.S. is expected to send a plane to Japan to bring back citizens that had been quarantined on the cruise ship “Diamond Princess” due to the coronavirus. So far, the outbreak has led to over 1,500 deaths in China alone. However to some passengers, boredom is a far bigger battle than the illness is. Avenatti found guilty of trying to extort Nike

Michael Avenatti, the once-star lawyer who attempted to take President Trump to court, could now face a prison sentence himself after a grand jury found him guilty of trying to extort millions of dollars from Nike. Chip Reid reports on the fallout from the explosive trial. Source

Texas HS students compete in Mariachi festival

Web exclusive: Mariachi started in the late 1800s when Mexican musicians began adopting European instruments, like the violin, guitar, trumpet and accordion. But when Linda Ronstadt’s 1987 album of songs she heard her Mexican father sing became a smash, mariachi went mainstream. Today, high school students across Texas practice this form of folkloric music that transcends the U.S.-Mexico border. Correspondent Barry Petersen talked to some of the young musicians who came to Edinburg in southwest Texas, where 70 bands participated in the 2019 State Mariachi Festival, which became a state-sanctioned competition for the first time. Saturday Sessions: Bonny Light Horseman performs “The Roving”

Bonny Light Horseman might be a new band on the scene, but its members have been indie stars for over two decades. They put their own spin on traditional British folk songs for their self-styled debut album, “Bonny Light Horseman.” The band joins “CBS This Morning’s” Saturday Sessions to play “The Roving.” Source
