“Last Mission to Tokyo” documents WWII’s extraordinary Doolittle Raiders

Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, the Doolittle Raiders were the first pilots to successfully strike Japan. The mission was one of the defining moments of World War Two. The raid has been well documented, but the story of what happened after hasn’t been told in full — until now. Jeff Glor spoke to Michel Paradis, whose new book “Last Mission to Tokyo” documents both the raid, and the little known history that followed. Source

Formal remembrance of Congressman John Lewis begins Saturday

Civil rights icon Congressman John Lewis died last week at age of 80. Lewis was a leader of the freedom riders, and a protege of Martin Luther King Junior. He often faced arrest and violence during his fight against racial segregation. Lewis’s body left Atlanta Saturday morning, and is now on its way to Alabama. Michelle Miller reports from Selma. Saturday Sessions: Allman Betts Band performs “Magnolia Road”

Devon Allman, son of Allman Brothers frontman Greg Allman, paired up with sons of other founding Allman Brothers members to make the Allman Betts Band just three years ago. Following their acclaimed debut “Down to the River,” the band is now set to release their second album “Bless Your Heart” on August 28. They join “CBS This Morning: Saturday” to perform “Magnolia Road.” Source
