CBS News reporter finds, turns in $40,000 of lost jewelry at Dallas airport

Friday, someone left behind a box filled with $40,000 of jewelry at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. A good samaritan, CBS News’ own Omar Villafranca, found it, turned it in and tweeted the images out hoping to find the owner. Villafranca said, “Hoping by doing this… It makes someone’s 2020 suck less.” The owner was found. Source

Airline study says risk of virus transmission low while flying

An unprecedented series of tests claim to prove airline cleaning techniques do effectively kill the coronavirus. The research was funded by Boeing. University of Arizona and Boeing researchers used a live, but harmless virus to test the cleaning process on real planes. Several states see massive die-off of migratory birds

In late August, people in New Mexico noticed hundreds of migratory birds that had fallen dead right out of the sky. Within a few weeks, the numbers had expanded to thousands of birds across other states. Scientists have been struggling for an explanation as they look to protect birds from other threats. Inside the different ballots used in U.S. elections

Early voting is underway in 36 states as of Saturday. More than 53 million people have already gone to the ballot box, a ballot dropbox or have cast their vote by mail.
