Trump skips inauguration ceremony, upending several traditions

Many of the longstanding traditions that typically take place on Inauguration Day were missing from Wednesday’s transfer of power. Former President Trump chose not to meet with President Biden face to face, instead hosting his own farewell event at Joint Base Andrews.
