Rouhani: Terrorism can’t be eradicated with airstrikes

Hassan Rouhani, the president of Iran, stressed that airstrikes against ISIS, and military training for Syrian fighters, is not a sufficient method for eliminating terrorism. Referencing the training of Syrian troops, Rouhani told Charlie Rose: “the way to combat terrorism, sir, is not for us to give birth to another terrorist group.” Source

Rise of Khorasan coincided with Syrian upheaval

U.S. intelligence sources say the al Qaeda-linked bomb-making group known as Khorasan started to form in Syria as the country devolved into civil war.
