California becomes state with strongest internet privacy rights

A groundbreaking law in California will give 40 million people the strongest internet privacy rights in U.S. history when it takes effect in 2020. Many tech companies collect personal information including birthdays, email addresses and users’ interests without permission, then earn big money selling it.
